One year on ...

Getting the keys to the new studio space felt right, like I was going home. Back to where it all began 11 years. This time around it's not so daunting, I have years of experience under my belt now from teaching, listening, learning, running a business and I'm so grateful to have made many, many wonderful friends along the way.

I am so excited to be sharing the space with Annie, the wonderfully creative fibre Artist from Annie and the Hooks. To be in the fortunate position, of sharing our passion and studio space has been so uplifting.

Sadly, the building (Highland House) hasn't change in all these years, it's still in disrepair, however Annie and I have cleaned, painted, laid new flooring and revamped the room into the spectacular Studio 7a, creating an intimate, vibrant, welcoming space. The studio is up two flights of stairs, making it not easily accessible for everyone. With affordable places for small businesses in Inverness so scarce, we are aiming to be in a more suitable place for everybody as soon as.

February 2026 update

Sewing classes are unfortunately on hold, at the moment, until I am in a space that can accommodate, without  squeezing in, just to make do.

Fabric and haberdashery supplies, are returning, and soon to be available initially online.

Spring should see the first of our Newsletters, where all updates will happen, about regrowing The Sewing Room.
